hi everyone...mike here. i am primarily a guitar player, but also play keyboards. i love the user's forum. read it every day! as far as our group...we are 4 old farts that love playing music. you can check out details about the history of the band at http://www.blackieandthebullets.com/ as far as gear.....here's our setup.. my stuff...guitars ...strat plus/epi dot deluxe/ibanez s470..randall 1/2 stack tube amp pedal board with vintage ibanez chorus, blues driver, boss dd3 digital delay, morley wah/volume.. of course the korg i-30, which drives the IH harmonizer and an Alesis SR-16, via midi, and that supplies click track to drummer and rest of us on "midi" songs...rather than have a bigger group, we do a lot of songs playing along to smf files that i pre-arrange..more $$ for us with only 4 in the band..but we can sound like an 8 piece horn band if we want to! we also do about 1/2 of our songs "live", just guitar/bass/drums...we actually wud prefer having a keyboard player, and not having to deal with a click, but like i said $$ is a factor, and most keyboard players are geeks....JUST KIDDING! i also use a topaz light controller, so i customize a track on the i30 to "play" the lights. adds a lot to our show, to have lights customized for each song. and have another track for harmonies for the ih harmonizer. we mic everything, bass, drums, guitar, etc.. i do the mix from the stage. we have a mackey 16 ch mixer, peavy pa / 18" subs and 15" 3ways.. plus assorted effects, etc. i also have a cassette deck in my rack, so we tape every performance. they usually turn out pretty good, but the main purpose is so we can critique ourselves later. anyway, been playing music for about 40 years now (i just turned 50! yikes!)...and love it. what a release from the stresses of life. great therapy. i enjoy reading the forum, and have learned so much about the wonderful i-30 from you guys (cuz you sure cant learn much from the manuals). take care, god bless, and keep those cards and letters coming.
