Kbd Set (KS) is another excellent feature of the i30. It enables you to "call up" a set of sounds including volumes/pan/mix etc at any time - even during playing an ARANGEMENT. I use this a lot - here's an example of use: 1. Assume you are using an ARRANGEMENT with MAIN kbd=sax, SUB kbd=piano, LOWER kbd=nstrings 2. During playing this arrangement, you wish to instantly change those settings to MAIN=vibes, SUB=Jazz gtr, LOWER=choir. 3. To achieve this you must create a Keyboard SET with all those settings (in 2. above) this is how to do it. 4. Select any arrangement 5. Set Main=vibes,SUB=jazzgtr,LOWER=choir 6. Set all volumes, panning etc for the sounds as you want them to be. 7. Write keyboard set (eg as KS 21) 8. Save the keyboard set to disk (xxx.ARK file) - part of your xxx.SET 9. Now call up your ARRANGEMENT to play. 10. start playing 11. select KS 21 at any time and the sounds will change exactly as you set up in the KS. Selecting a keyboard set does not change your style, tempo, key etc or arrangement (unless you write it). Hope this helps Pete P.S. ... when you write the KS, you will see a list of all the i30 settings that are writtenin a KS. There is more than just sounds & mixes. Really, the KS feature is just like the older keyboard "registrations" - Korg have supplied this feature to enable us to quickly change instruments whilst playing and save us some keystrokes. You can leave the KS screen on the display whilst playing, and just enter the different KS numbers you want at any time - this is a truly great performance feature. I even use this to change octave settings (same sound). Another reason not to jump to the PA80??? (just stirring - LOL!!!) Pete
