Pete C Re: Backing Sequence sound Quality VS song Mode.... Wed Feb 6 19:19:23 2002 194.196.100.56 Hi Armand A couple of things here. One of the reasons for SONG (SONG PLAY) and BSQ sounding different is due to EFFECTS settings - this can make a vast difference to the sound. Make sure you have OS2.1.3 installed and you will be able to use the new EFFECTS settings in BSQ. The SONG PLAY volume slider facility I find is a disasterous feature (Korg should have left this one alone). I NEVER use it as it often messes up the whole play back volume levels. The safest way to get those reliable volume/pan etc settings is to set them up in SONG mode by testing the song using the mixer screen, then when it is right, write down all the current settings and then edit them into each track. This might seem long-winded but there is no fast way to do this whatever sequencer you use. You can now save the SONG and SMF and your volumes/panning is safe forever. (NOTE: if the tracks already have volume/panning controller events, I suggest you delete them all - the i30 lets you do this very easily in "EDIT" screen - another great feature i use a lot when playing around with SMFs). Hope this helps Pete
